Way to Achieve Advancement in Science and Technology


Since the art of making fire and creating handcrafted tools, our civilization has come a long way. Science and technology are making advances at an amazing rate. From telephone to internet; from calculators to computers, from cars to rockets and satellites. We are submerged in a sea of discoveries and inventions made possible by science. Fields like medicine and communication have made inroads into culture and thus our life styles.

So vast is the impact of science on our lives, that people fear the unthinkable. It leads them to accusation such as science tries to play God. However according to Hume God is part of the order that exists in the universe. If so then Science is just helping us to discover the Almighty which most people perceive as ultimate truth.

There are many benefits of Science and Technology. Lot of easiness and convenience has been created by the Science and technology. Now that nation is honourable and respected which is advanced in Science and Technology so it is necessary for nations like ours to make advancement in this regard.

For the advancement of Science and Technology it is essential that we should educate our masses. Because without education advancement in this connection is not possible. Education is the only way to advancement of Science and Technology. In our country literacy ratio is very low. Here is only 36 percent literacy ratio and that is not satisfactory thing. Because the ratio of literacy in countries like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka is more than we people. First of all we should achieve satisfactory result in literacy than we can improve in Science and Technology.

We have talented and dedicated persons in higher educational institutions they are in need of encouragement to make research in various fields of Science and Technology. But sorry to say that there is no such encouragement to those fellows who want to make research or are engaged in research. It is duty of Government to encourage the scientific research sector. For that budget should be allocated.

Till we achieve self sufficiency in the field of Science and Technology we have to depends on the researches made by developed countries. We should try to make agreement of transfer of Technology with the countries like China, Japan, Korea, Germany and France. This action will enable us to have sufficient advancement in the field of Science and Technology.

The third possible step which we can take is to create friendly investment atmosphere in Science and Technology sector. For that we should offer favourable package to the nations who are interested to invest in this sector. For that purpose it is necessary to have political stability. Coming government must be made bound to full fill the agreements of previous Government. The law and order situation should be made under control. Infra structure should be provided.

If all these steps are taken then it will be possible for we people to make advancement in Science and Technology. It is only way on which we can advance towards property and development.
