Essay On Religion and Life
In this age of scepticism
and agnosticism it is not safe to talk about religion. Because people have many
misgiving about religion. They confuse it with orthodoxy and when ever they
discuss the subject they always are off the point. To them only purpose of life
appears to be materialistic enjoyment, yet one feels as if one is missing
something. If we look within our selves we shall note that something has
happened with us that have has taken away the joy of life. Some time we feel
dissatisfied even when we have amassed the worldly goods to our heart’s content
the inner harmony has turned in it a discord and no more do we hear the music
of soul. The question arises what ails us? And even one answer according to his
own belief.
Naturally the
human mind seeks solace. There is a class of people gifted with sixth sense.
That is institution. It means direct perception of reality. They have the
glimpse of it. Then in symbolical terms they interpret their inner experience.
Their language is different their mode of living is different not only this
they themselves are the people with difference. Naturally they succeed in directly
and diverting the popular attention to themselves. In them the people find what
they themselves had full unmistakably but not so clearly. They too had felt an
unrest something vague they experienced with in. it was sweet, it was
intoxicating, yet they could formulate it in clear terms and besides the glow,
the warmth was not so constant. Now in their midst comes the man with the
message familiar to them in their dreaming.
They recognized it instantly. They
read in it the languages of their own hearts. So they say they declare their
deepest faith in him and this faiths and backbone of religion. The faithful are
indicated in to the mystery of reality. So the reality flashes on their minds
too and they dedicate themselves to the call of messenger. They know he can not
be wrong. They follow him is a new change that has affected their now they have
transformed their self conscious. This transformed self conscious ness gives
them the vision of ultimate truth and beauty. When we have so analyzed the
problem that we faced in the beginning, the answer we have is much clearer. Our
problem was that happiness in life depends on man’s perception of the nature of
the self and its relationship with the cosmic process. So the answer that has
been given to us is that only the supermen with highly evolved consciousness
are in position to solve the mystery of the universe.
Reason falls
there, senses get exhausted. So religion is the only prop to man in his quest
for supreme happiness.
Unfortunately
the modern man has turned away from religion and he is paying the prices or
council vanity, doubt and a hundred and one pitfalls. Uneasy lies his head,
staggering are his steps, tied and dejected, is trudging along without hope,
without satisfaction. What is this destination? He knows not, wither goes man?
We may ask as many times as we like, but answer we have none. Despite fabulous
growth in man and material peace not happened are distant goal wars, pestilence
misery on all sides diabolical shadows hunt him. Yet the man of today still
pins his faith on the source that have dried up. It is still time that he might
realize the danger that lies a head scepticism is no answer to human needs.
Materialism is a poor substituted for religion. Agnosticism proves the undoing
of man, let better counsel prevail, let us see directly in the nature of things
and be strong in our faith, so that we may attain salvation and man may in fact
become immortal.
It is too
obvious that the religion is not only necessary but indispensable to life.
