Role of the Teacher for the Improvement of Standard of Education

Teacher is architect or builders of the nation. Unlike the work of an architect the noble work of a teacher can not be seen by human eyes, because the teacher works in the quarry of human hearts secretly and silently the hidden work of a teacher has far reaching effects on human character, for teaching is people’s job. A teacher has strength and wisdom of diverting the attention of student to the desired goal. A teacher can reform any system by his sagacity.

In our country day by day standard of education is going towards decline. Now student are in habit of using unfair means in the examinations. Now the purpose of examinations and education is only to get degree. Now the ignorant, unskilled and illiterate army of youth having so called degrees is roaming here and there for jobs. If they succeed in getting jobs their performance is not worthy of praise.

The development progress and prosperity of any nation depends on skilled and educated persons of the society when Americans dropped atomic bomb on two Japanese cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. There was no chance of re-development but Japanese were confident about their future. They knew that they will raise once again because their skilled is counted among most developed nations of the world. It shows that a country can develop if their teachers are hard working and dedicated. We can learn from the experience of the developed nations. We hope that our teacher can play its due role.

As for as the improvement of standard of education is concerned it is also the work of a devoted and dedicated teacher. Because teacher is the main part of education system. In the absence of a teacher we can not imagine about education. So the progress of education is related with teacher. If teacher is unconcerned there will be no improvement in the filed of education so for the improvement of standard of education teacher is very important. Because teacher knows the system. He knows the fundamental requirements of students as well as of the society. Besides the teaching he knows the psychology of the society as well as of the student. He knows the ethical and cultural values of the country. He has knowledge of ideological basis of the country.

It is why whole the system of education need active participation of a teacher in the whole system of education his active participation is very necessary from curriculum making to teaching and examining. But here we have ignored the teacher. Curriculum is farmed by those persons who haven’t entered the class room for a single occasion. They do not know the class room atmosphere as well as psychology of the students. They only read some foreign books and make text books in their light. After it teacher –teaches that curriculum in the class room which does not suit to the conditions of the society. After teaching there is examining authority which considers itself superior one. They do not observe the conditions of the schools and students. But they require from the students to answer each and every thing which has been put before them.

If we want to improve our system of education we should involve our teachers in whole the process right from curriculum making to examining the student. Then there is possibility that we can achieve our desired goal. Besides this teacher has an influence over student and community he can motivate the parents as well as students to take interests to take interests in studies. In this way he can get co-operation of parents and students by doing so he can bring de railed train of education on the track of development and progress. So teachers should feel their responsibility towards these national causes and make conscious efforts in this regard.
